Summer German Course in Freiburg, Germany

Study in Aschaffenburg

Freiburg is located in the southeast of Germany and its very close to Switzerland and France. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, and a must-see for those going to visit the Black Forest. It is said that it is one of the most welcoming cities of the country, maybe because of its milder climate. That's why around 3 million people visit the city every year, which during the year has a population of 200,000 people. It is 153 kilometers northeast of Zürich.

Starting Dates

The students can start the course any Saturday between July 7 and August 10, with a minimum stay of 1 week.
Arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays.

Academic Center

The academic center is located in a tranquil neighbourhood only 10 minutes away from the city. Surrounded by forests, the school occupies two floors in a large residential complex. The classrooms and the restaurant are on the first floor, surrounded by terraces and sunny gardens, and the students' rooms are on the second floor. The sports center, which features a swimming pool, several football or basketball fields, as well as other infrastructures is located a short walk away from the main building.

Classes

Students will take a level test on the first day to determine their knowledge of German and corresponding course level. The program consists of 20 or 25 general German lessons from Monday to Friday. Students who wish to further improve thier conversation skills can choose the "Conversation Plus" program, which includes 2 weekly lessons oriented to converstion. Each lesson is equivalent to 45 actual minutes of class.

Accommodations

The students will stay in a large residence in quadruple rooms with a bathroom, and with a full board. The rooms are located in the same building. Local counselors stay with the students to assure a 24-hour surveillance.

Activities & Excursions

The counselor team organizes a daily activity program after classes, featuring badminton, basketball, beach games, climbing, table tennis volleyball... At night, the students can continue practising German with their colleagues in different activities like barbecues, cinema, disco... The program also includes excursions to Europa Park and other destinations like Lake Constanza, the Rhine waterfalls, and excursions to Karlsruhe or Stuttgart.

Optional sports

  • Tennis: 3 weekly sessions taught by professional teachers. The classes will take place in a tennis school nearby.
  • Horse riding: 3 weekly sessions. Horse riding clsses will take place at a qualified equestrian school, and on horses.
  • Football: 3 weekly sessions. There are indoor and outdoor fields (of synthetic surfaces), what allows the program to happen despite the weather.

Transfers

The transfers are included in the price. Arrivals must be on Sundays between 10:00 and 15:30, and departures on Saturdays between 10:00 and 16:00.
