Learn English in Bishop's Stortford

The town of Bishop's Stortford, where the school is situated, was founded in Roman times and it is a typical English town. With a population of 40,000 inhabitants, in 2006, the town was voted the 7th best place to live in England for its security and tranquility, and is the perfect location in which children can learn English.

Bishop's Stortford is located between London and Cambridge, just 10 kilometers from London's Stansted airport.

Academic Center

The Hockerill Anglo-European College which was founded in 1850 provides the outstanding installations. Throughout the academic year the school is home to British students who reside, so both the academic and the residential areas are constantly supervised.

The center boasts spacious classrooms, music and craft rooms, sports center, grassed sports pitches and common rooms with TV and video amongst its facilities.

Classes

The program comprises 20 English lessons per week in international groupings (15 actual hours of class). All students will take an obligatory level test on the first day to determine each student's English level and corresponding course level.

The English classes work on improving communication skills through a variety of different methods such as pair work, role plays and theater amongst others and all of the teachers are highly qualified.

Accommodation

Students will reside on campus, staying on a full board basis. The accommodation is organized according to age and gender in mostly double or quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms. Both the local supervisors and Spanish supervisor sleep wihin the same campus which means that students are under supervision 24 hours a day. The program offers a laundry service once a week.

Activities, Sports & Excursions

As well as classes, the program also includes a varied bill of sporting and cultural activities such as badminton, cricket, football, basketball, as well as leisure activities like T-shirt designing, theatre, preparation for international comptitions...

Included in the program are two full day excursions both the first and second week and one full day excursion in the final week to destinations such as London, Cambridge, Warwick Castle, Brighton...

Counselors & Information

Departing from Madrid Barajas airport, the group will be escorted at all times by a Spanish Enforex monitor who will accompany the students throughout their stay in England and return with the group to Madrid.
