Study in Zug

Zug is a small city with 15,000 inhabitants located in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, in the northeastern part of the Zuger See lake.

Its natural beautiful and privileged geographical location in the heart of Switzerland makes the city a prime cultural and tourist destination, allowing students to discover the Alps. - The perfect place to learn German or English amongst lakes and mountains.

Course Dates & Duration

Students may begin their program on any Saturday between July 7 and August 10, with a minimum stay of 2 weeks.
Arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays.

Academic Center

The program in Zug takes place at the prestigious Saint Michael School, which is located very near the city center and less than a 10-minute walk from the Zuger See lake.

The building is fully-equipped and has an excellent infrastructure: 8 classrooms, study rooms with TV and DVD, theater, games room, computer lab with free Internet access. It also has athletic facilities available to students, such as a gym, a football field, and basketball, handball and volleyball courts.

Course Characteristics

In both programs students will take a level test on the first day to ensure their placement in the correct learning group. The courses are held in the mornings from Monday to Friday. Students can choose either 20 or 25 lessons per week of either German or English. Those students who wish to further improve their conversation skills, can do so by opting for the 'Conversation Plus' program which includes 2 lessons per week focused exclusively on conversation. Each lesson is equivalent to 45 minutes.

Accommodation

In Zug, students will reside right on the campus in comfortable triple rooms. All of the rooms have a wash basin, and in the hallways there are shared bathrooms and showers. For the safety of the students, counselors live on campus and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their stay will be full board (all meals).

Activities & Sports

The team of local monitors organise a program of various activities every day for after class, such as badminton, basketball, beach games, climbing, table tennis, volleyball etc. During the evenings, students can continue practising their French with their classmates in activities like BBQs, movie nights, discos etc. The program also includes excursions to places like Zurich, Lucerna, the Technology Museum in Winterthur etc.

Optional Sports

  • Golf: 3 sessions per week on an 18-hole course
  • Tennis: 3 sessions per week

Airport Transfers

The airport transfers included in the price are for Sunday arrivals between 11am and 3.30pm and Saturday departures between 10am and 4pm.
