The location of Malta in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea makes it an ideal place to study English during any time of the year. It's part of an archipelago of three islands along with Gozo and Comino; Malta is the most important of the three. Due to its strategic location, Malta has been occupied by Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, the Knights of Saint John, French, English... all of whom have left their influences on the island.

Malta was a British colony from 1814 until gaining its independence in 1964; the 150 years of British occupation of intensely marked the country and its language. English is one of the two official languages of Malta, the Maltese drive on the left side of the road and they like a typical English breakfast. The island's most important newspaper is also in English.

Malta is without a doubt a perfect destination for families thanks to the wonderful combination of good weather, the sea, activities and English.

Participant Ages

Children & adolescents: from 8 to 17 years old divided into two programs for ages 8-12 and ages 13-17

Adultos: ages 18+

Course Dates & Duration

The program can take place during any week between June 12 and August 27.

Arrival will be on Sunday and departure on Saturday, though the school is flexible regarding arrival and departure dates. The school will arrange extra nights for an additional cost.

Academic Center

This program is designed for families that want to spend a few weeks learning English while enjoying their vacation.

The school has three academic centers:

  • Center for children ages 8 - 12
  • Center for adolescents ages 13 - 17
  • Center for adults ages 18+

That's why every member of the family can enjoy this program together while attending their corresponding center.

All participants will go together to the academic center for adults; buses to the centers for children and adolescents will leave from there.

Classes

Adult students can choose from a wide variety of linguistic programs that range from General English (20 or 30 lessons per week) to Mini Group Programs with a maximum of 6 participants per class.

The programs for children and adolescents include a total of 20 lessons per week, divided into 4 lessons per day from Monday to Friday. Classes are held in the morning.

All participants will take an obligatory level test on the first day to determine each student's level of English and corresponding course placement.

Accommodation

The school has apartments in different areas near the school. The apartments are completely furnished and fully equipped and the number of rooms depends on the number of participating family members. The majority of the apartment buildings have a private pool.

Activities & Sports

Participants of the program for 9 to 13 year olds will enjoy, along with their fellow international peers, a full and diverse program that includes sports, leisure activities and excursions (program included in the price). Participants from 13 to 17 yeras old will also have the option of participating in the program with or without the afternoon activities.

The school will offer a diverse program of activities that includes visits to emblematic places or sports options like scuba diving or sailing.

Students will pay for activities not included in the price directly to the school.

Scuba Diving Program (only in July)

Malta is considered a scuba diving paradise. The scuba diving program takes place during two weeks and is oriented to the acquisition of the Padi Open Water (level 1) license. It includes 5 classes with 5 immersions and immersions in the sea. Those who have already completed level 1 can participate in the Advanced Open Water program.

Counselors

Students will be accompanied at all times by local counselors as well as our own counselors who will leave and return with the group.
