The big apple, the city that never sleeps, the capital of the world, or simply New York. It is the most populated city in the state of the same name and of the whole of the United States. It is the heart of the metropolitan area of New York which is the largest agglomeration in the world. For over a century it has been one of the world center's for commerce and finance.

New York is considered to be a global city given its influence at international level in communication, politics, education, entertainment and fashion. The cultural and artistic influence of the city is one of the strongest in the country and you will also find the head office of the United Nations, which has become an important point in international relations. The city comprises 5 boroughs, each of which coincides with a county: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

Course Dates & Duration

Courses of 2 to 4 weeks
Depature and arrival with Spanish supervisor: from July 3 to July 24
Starting dates for individuals: July 3 and July 17

Academic Center

The program takes place at Fordham Univeristy's Rose Hill campus. This private university is located 25 kilometers away from downtown Manhattan. It offers our students a spectacular campus with large green areas and the most modern facilities: big classrooms, comfortable rooms, swimming pool, computer lab, library, sports fields, TV room and WI-FI access throughout the campus. The New York Zoo and the Botanical Garden.

Classes

Students will take a level test on their first day to determine which class corresponds to their level. 20 lessons per week will be taken from Monday to Friday in international groups. Each lesson is equivalent to 45 minutes of class.

Those students who wish to follow a more intensive program have the option of taking the "English Plus" program, which offers 24 lessons of 45 minutes each. If the student chooses this program, he will have to obtain a Student Visa, which implies a personal interview at the US Embassy in Madrid, as well as the payment of the corresponding fees.

Accommodations

Accommodation is on the same campus with a full board treatment. The residential complex has 88 apartments, each of them with 2 to 5 single or double rooms, all of them with a private bathroom. Each apartment also has a living room and a small kitchen. The building features a laundry room and the school with supply the students with bed sheets, blankets and towels.

Activities & Sports

The program includes a varied and complete selection of activities both after class and after dinner. The students will enjoy 3 half-day and 1 full-day excursion to the city of New York, which will allow them to visit the most iconic buildings and areas of the city: Times Square, the Empire State Building, the SoHo, the 5th Avenue, Central Park, Coney Island. Aprt from this, there will be an after-dinner leisure program which includes a treasure quest, movies, celebrity wars...

Supervisors

Throughout the program, students will be accompanied by Spanish supervisors at all times. If the program is done out of the group dates, the students will be under direct supervision of local counselors.
