PERTHSHIRE (SCOTLAND)

Strathallan school is located in the county of Perthshire, in a small town called Forgandenny, just 65 kilometers from Edinburgh and 50 kilometers from Saint Andrews, without doubt two of the most emblematic cities of Scotland. Students will be able to enjoy a large school in a small town, where they will also find excellent shops and a large variety of culture.

Academic Center

The program takes place in Strathallan School, an impressive school founded in 1913 which has excellent academic, residential and sports facilities. It spans an area of 4,047m2 and students have access to an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, grass fields for playing sport, a theatre, and a dance hall.

Classes

Classes take place in the school and students can choose:

• General English: 15 hours per week from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12.30pm.
• Intensive English: 23 hours per week from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12.30pm, and 4 afternoons per week from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

All students will take a level test on their first day in order to determine their level of knowledge of the language. The maximum number of students per class is 15. Students who choose to take the horse riding, golf or football option will not be able to take the intensive program as the chosen sport will take place 3 afternoons per week from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Accommodation

Students will stay in the school's residency. All students will stay in individual rooms with a shared bathroom and full board. The school is made up of various 'houses' in which the bedrooms are located.

Activities, Sports and Excursions

The program includes a varied cultural and sports program. Every afternoon after class, students can enjoy activities such as football, tennis and volleyball. They can also learn typical Scottish dances or enjoy Scottish parties. They can also enjoy visits to different places in Edinburgh like the castle, the zoo etc. There are also more activities held after dinner such as discos, movie nights, karaoke, treasure hunts etc.
The program also includes excursions on the weekends to Saint Andrews and Falkland Palace, and a trip across Loch Lomond, among others.

Supervisors and Information

Students are accompanied by native supervisors and our own supervisors at all times. Students will meet their supervisors personally before departing in the orientation session that we hold, where all of the course details will be presented.
