About Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is one of the most beautiful cities in the U.K. and all of Europe. It's greatest attraction is the spectacular castle that towers over the center of the city. It's of historic interest not only because of its former use as fort and royal residency, but also because it offers an incredible panoramic view of the urban landscape.
Edinburgh was named European Capital of Culture in 1991, and every August you can attend the Edinburgh Festival, which encompasses a great variety of music, comedy, art and theater that attracts visitors from all over the world.
The English School in Edinburgh
This private, international school has held the reputation as one of Edinburgh's best educational centers for over 10 years now.
Located in a typical Scottish house, you'll study at a short walk from one of Edinburgh's most famous passages, "Princess Street."

Accommodations
Families
You'll stay with a family that the Housing Coordinator deems to match your profile. Rooms are all private and you may choose between a meal plan of breakfast only or half board every day of the week.
There are also double rooms for 2 students traveling together, available upon request.
Residence
These are made up of various apartments, each apartment with 5 or 6 individual bedrooms. Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room and bathrooms.
The residence is located at just a 20-minute walk from the English school in a beautiful area of the city.
Cultural Activities
The school's social coordinators propose a weekly activity schedule. Many take place at the school or use the school as a meeting place to take walks around the city or visit the famous Highlands or Loch Ness.
During the month of August you can enjoy one of the world's best art festivals, in reality 4 different festivals in one that bring together a huge display of outdoor and indoor theatrical productions, concerts, book fairs and more.
