Tokyo, known historically as Tokei, Edo or Yedo, is the capital of Japan, where it is located in the central eastern part of the island of Honshu. This place, considered one of the world's most important urban centers due to its financial and commercial activity, is the center of politics, education and other important aspects of Japanese culture. Tokyo, which has more than 12 million inhabitants, also has lakes and rivers, temples, monuments and modern buildings.
Tokyo is also one of the safest cities in the world with little crime and violence in the streets. If you have any questions, feel free to ask around, as Japanese people are very friendly and willing to lend a hand.
Currently, students can choose between two academic centers, both of which are located in the center of Tokyo and separated by a metro station.
The Shinjuku-ku academic center in the center of the capital is only 5 minutes away from the Shinjuku metro station. The surrounding area is a commercial zone with restaurants, technology shops and movie theatres.
The Takadanobaba academic center is in a university area that has been recently remodeled and provided with restaurants and a shopping mall; the school is only a 30 minute walk away from the JR Takadanobaba station and only 5 minutes away from the Shinjuku area.
