About Flamingo Beach, Costa Rica
Flamingo Beach is a comfortable town of about 32,000 inhabitants set on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. It's a veritable eco-wonderland of crystalline waters and lush vegetation, which makes it an ideal study abroad destination. It's the perfect mix of learning Spanish and enjoying a relaxing, beachside vacation!
The surprisingly few tourists hitting up mean that you can take full advantage of an authentic, personalized experience with Costa Rica's culture and language. Plus, with watersports, canopy tours, horseback-riding, hiking, boat safaris and more, there is certainly no shortage of things to do!
Another aspect that guarantees you’ll be immersed in the lifestyle and culture is our home stay program. Our participating families are located in typical nearby towns, such as Potrero, Lajas, Brasilito and Huacas.
The Spanish Language School
Located right along the waterfront and looking out over the marina, our Enforex partner school in Flamingo Beach is a fully-equipped school just at the entrance to the town.
Facilities include: 26 classrooms, kitchen, garden area, common room, video room, library, hammock area, movie/ AV room, small basketball court and a pool complete with a patio and showers.
Minimum age to study abroad in Flamingo Beach: 14 years old for adult programs & 6 years old for children's programs.

Accommodations
Families
Staying with a host family in Flamingo Beach and participating in their day-to-day life is the best way to learn the language and discover Costa Rica's culture. You will stay in a single room with a half board meal plan.
Bed & Breakfast
Another option for students is to stay in the Flamgino Beach Bed & Breakfast, comprised of cheerful units and palm trees set around a small swimming pool. You will stay in a double room equipped with a private bathroom, air-conditioning, desk, fan and cable TV. Breakfast is included, as is a laundry service and daily room cleaning. There is a restaurant at which you can purchase lunch and/ or dinner.
Cultural Activities
Our Spanish school in Flamingo Beach, Costa Rica organizes excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends. In addition, each we there are 2-3 cultural activities held in the library, and once each month we will invite you to celebrate "cultural week," complete with special events. Some activities are free, but the average price for an afternoon excusion is $30, while weekend excusions can cost between $145 and $185.
The most common activities include: Latin dance classes, trips to local beaches, horseback-riding, sunset cruises, literature or handicraft workshops, kayaking/ snorkeling, visits to nearby volcanoes, visits to national parks, jungle boat trips, waterfall rappelling, white water rafting, and more!
